I changed the theme on my website, so I'm writing and posting a short blog post to see if what the post looks like
A little change up from all those mountain photos:) Carolina Beach, North Carolina. The water was kind of cold.
Since we live in the Colorado foothills, we have lots of pine trees. We have aspens too, but they are still sleeping since it's early March. Check out a short slide show of the trees in our yard. My favorite is the tree village - I've been reading about how trees communicate with each other and support each other when there's a water shortage. It's strange to think that trees might create communities, but when you let them grow on their own, they do create little villages like this. Check out this book: The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate - Discoveries from a Secret World by Peter Wohlleben and Tim Flannery.
Playing around with the Waterlogue iPhone app.
Deer in my neighbor's yard. She's giving Oreo the stinkeye. I apparently don't bother her at all, but she watched the dog like a hawk. Honestly, I'm hurt. She hangs out in our yard and in our neighbor's yard all the time and she knows from experience that Oreo won't chase her. She's with her little clan - you can see a couple of the other deer in the background. (image altered with Snapseed).
Frosty morning. The sun came out, but it's crummy down in Denver today. We do live in the banana belt:)
